Opt out
Being paid should not be something that happens to you. Any address can refuse to be named as a recipient, and only that address can lift the refusal afterwards.
What opting out does
- Drops any X handle currently bound to your address.
- Blocks a new handle from being bound to it while the refusal stands.
- Keeps your address out of the leaderboards and activity feed.
What it does not do
- It cannot claw back money already sent. Anything sitting in a splitter for you stays yours and stays withdrawable.
- It cannot stop someone naming your address in a splitter they deploy. The contracts are public and nobody can be prevented from sending you funds — what Xpaid controls is whether this app credits you for it.
This is recorded on chain, so it costs a small amount of gas and is visible to anyone. That is the trade for it being enforceable by the contract rather than by our promise.
